Focus on Hairscape PH — Art, Attitude, and the Perfect Cut

When I was younger, I’d save every spare peso just to get a haircut at Hairscape. Back then, it wasn’t just about grooming — it was rebellion, identity, and self-expression. Hairscape felt like a movement. It wasn’t trying to sell perfection; it was selling freedom.

They weren’t just giving cuts — they were shaping culture.

Fast forward to now, and life came full circle. We finally got to partner with Hairscape PH for Models Bootcamp, where they showcased their artistry through bold colors and experimental cuts. Watching them in action — with their fearless energy and attention to detail — reminded me why I admired them all those years ago.

The Hairscape Ethos

Hairscape has always carried that edge — an aesthetic that’s young, urban, and visionary. Founded in Cagayan de Oro, the salon merges artistry with attitude. Their culture has always been about self-expression: hair as identity, hair as art.

Under the creative direction of Uno Siao, Hairscape continues to redefine what a salon can be. Uno’s style is technical yet intuitive — precision meets personality. Working with him during Bootcamp was surreal. Years ago, I’d look at his work with awe. Now, I get to collaborate directly with the same creative mind that shaped the culture I grew up inspired by.

The Shoot — Making It Work

The shoot almost didn’t happen. Backstage at the fashion show was packed — wires, lights, stylists, chaos. There was no space to set up a proper shot. But necessity breeds invention.

We asked the models to step out, searching for any spot with good contrast. That’s when I noticed the red wall by the escalator — a perfect accidental backdrop. Its deep tone made the vibrant hair colors pop even more.

With just one light, we made it work — intentional angles, quick direction, and Hairscape’s magic doing the rest.

The resulting photos were raw and alive. You can feel the energy in them — the rebellion, the confidence, the joy of transformation.

Every frame captured Hairscape’s identity: bold, forward-thinking, and utterly fearless.

Full Circle

Working with Hairscape was more than a creative partnership — it was a personal milestone. From saving up for my first haircut there, to now shooting their work as part of my own creative journey, it felt poetic.

Hairscape continues to be what it’s always been: a brand that treats hair as a medium of art, craft, and emotion. And as always, they cut not just with skill, but with soul.
